As Statista's chart shows, more than 4 in 10 U.S. adults reported that they experienced symptoms of mentalhealthproblems, such as stress, anxiety or depression in the 12 months preceding the survey, making an open discourse about mentalhealthissues all the more important. This is a very personal project looking at mentalhealth. Itβs a project I started to help me come to terms with my own mentalhealth, to allow me to express what itβs like to live with mental illness, as well as explore mentalhealthissues. Scrolling through our social media feeds feels like a harmless part of our daily lives. But is it actually as harmless at seems? Mentalhealth, defined by the World Health Organization, is.Sadly, there is still stigma around mentalhealth around the world. In Thailand, the stigma revolves around the belief that those suffering from mentalissues are weak and don't have the power to get over simple sadness. The impact of mentalhealthproblems can be identified in three key stages emotional, physical, and behavioral. Individuals may experience feelings of anxiety, fear, depression, and stress. For mentalhealthproblems, this could be: Not thinking mentalhealthproblems are βrealβ healthproblems, or not taking them seriously. Using mentalhealth terms in a way that trivialises them.
